Ingredients for 4 (rather big) buns
- 300g unbleached flour
- 1 yeast
- 120ml soy milk
- 60ml lukewarm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground flax seed
- 1 Tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 Tsp finely chopped basil
- 1 pinch of salt
- Mix yeast, water and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Mix flax seed and milk in a small bowl.
- In a big bowl mix the rest of the ingredient then add the yeast mixture and and flax seed one. Combine and then knead on a floured surface until smooth.
- Put back in the bowl, cover and let rise until it doubles in size (about 1 hour)
- Knock the dough back down, knead a little and divide in 4. Form 4 balls, place them on a baking sheet and cover again. Let rise 30 more minutes.
- Bake the buns for 12 to 13 minutes in an oven preheated to 425°F (220°C)
- Let cool and then garnish with your favorite veggie burger
